The Dayawati Modi Foundation for Art Culture & Education sponsored five international artists' workshop in Sikri Bagh, Modinagar, NCR of Delhi, each in the first fortnight of November, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000 and 2001. Each workshop had nearly two dozen participants of which 12 were from India and 12 from abroad. By virtue of this about five dozen international artists from Australia, Austria, Canada, China, Cuba, Israel, Japan, Kenya, Namibia, Netherland, Pakistan, Poland, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand, Trinidad & Tobago, Uganda, United Kingdom and United States of America worked intensively together in these workshops - exchanging ideas, exploring varied methods and approaches and striking out in new and experimental directions.
We at the Institute had the privilege of the visit of these artists and the students and staff were benefited by their lectures with slide-show cum demonstration of interesting art forms and concepts. |
